Abstract: In the 2010s, proposals for the inclusion of ICTs in education grew through normative texts such as, for example, the BNCC (BRAZIL, 2018) and various state and municipal guidelines for Basic Education. With the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, some education departments offered training courses to develop skills with digital technologies. Social isolation to contain the virus forced educators and students to incorporate ICTs into teaching and learning processes. It was found that, after the end of the pandemic and in subsequent years, several gaps and difficulties remained that prevent the critical use of Digital Technologies. Based on these premises, this thematic axis will discuss effective experiences in teacher training with ICTs and, at the same time, present proposals that overcome obstacles to the critical appropriation of ICTs in teaching and learning processes.

Objectives:

  • To reflect on the transformations experienced in daily school life, generated by the urgencies of the global Covid-19 pandemic;

  • To analyze the main challenges and greatest difficulties faced by education professionals in the process of adapting to remote teaching;

  • To reflect critically on teacher training courses aimed at adapting to remote teaching methods, identifying advantages and limitations compared to face-to-face teaching and learning methods;

  • To consider how generational differences in origin, class, geography, culture, among others, influence the differentiated way of relating to Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICT);

  • To discuss successful experiences in using ICTs as a teaching tool and to reflect on their expansion and applicability.

Target audience: Undergraduate students, primary and secondary school teachers, university professors, graduate and undergraduate students in the humanities.
