Abstract: The Thematic Axis Audiovisual Narratives, Digital Technologies and Culture establishes a conducive environment for debates and reflections on the various intersections between audiovisual media—in its diverse manifestations, such as cinema, animation, and other productions—digital technologies, and contemporary culture. Submissions exploring the changes in the modes of production, distribution, reception, and consumption of audiovisual content within the context of the internet and digitization are admissible. Research addressing the history and memory of audiovisual media in interaction with the digital universe, new aesthetics and narratives, social media, streaming platforms, electronic games, and the implications of these technologies on cultural practices, society, and identity formation will be accepted.
Objectives:
-
To foster critical analysis: To encourage critical and thorough reflection on the interconnections between the production and circulation of audiovisual media, digital innovations, and their repercussions on culture, society, and art.
-
Debating Aesthetics and Narratives: To foster discussion about the new aesthetics, formats, and narratives that emerge as a result of the use of digital technologies, such as the internet, platforms, and artificial intelligence, in film, animation, and other audiovisual media productions.
-
Analyzing History and Memory: Accepting research that recovers the trajectory of cinema and audiovisual media, as well as examining the consequences of digital technologies on the preservation, access, and reinterpretation of audiovisual memory.
Target audience: Researchers, professors, and undergraduate and graduate students from the disciplines of Social Communication (Cinema, Audiovisual, Radio and TV, Journalism, Advertising), Arts, History, Social Sciences, Design, and related areas, committed to research and production related to cinema, animation, digital technologies, the internet, history, and culture.
